The Convention Centre Dublin is recognised for its occupational health and safety.
DUBLIN – 30 May 2024 – The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) has been certified in ISO 45001:2018, an international standard that specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system. Awarded by Certification Europe, the awarding body on behalf of ISO, ISO 45001:2018 provides a framework for organisations to manage risks and improve health and safety performance.
The CCD prides itself on having a strong health and safety culture and this standard goes towards recognising this.
Ann Hughes, Health and Safety Manager at The CCD said, “We want everyone who comes to The CCD, whether that’s to work or visit, to do so knowing that they are in a safe venue. We have an excellent track record for health and safety”, she added, “and this certification ensures that we continue to maintain these high standards and improve on what we do.”
Chief Executive of The CCD, Stephen Meehan, commented “At the beginning of the year, we set an objective to achieve ISO 45001, so to get certified in five months is a huge accomplishment and testament to the great work and systems that the team have put in place and managed over the years.”
The CCD has hosted over 2,300 events and welcomed more than 1.1 million delegates since opening in 2010.
