Brief

The 24th Annual European Association for International Education (EAIE) Conference was organised by global PCO Conference Partners in The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) from the 11th - 14th September. In excess of 4,200 higher education professionals, from over 80 countries, gathered to discuss the challenges and opportunities in ‘rethinking education and reshaping economies’, the theme of EAIE 2012.

Solution

Networking was a key aim of EAIE delegates and in order to facilitate this, a purpose built marquee was constructed in the picturesque environs of The CCD. The marquee proved to be a hugely successful aspect of the conference, serving as the ultimate networking hub, as a consistent footfall was present for the duration of the conference. Use of the marquee was a novel element as it was the first time that catering at The CCD was held outside its walls; the service remained impeccable however and the marquee area served to be a huge success.

An additional element of EAIE 2012 involved the exhibition area, held in the foyer of The CCD. By providing delegates with a meeting space that is conducive for the trade and exchange of ideas, connections and business possibilities were created, in turn altering an event exhibition space into a veritable marketplace.

Results

EAIE 2012 proved to be a major success, with its highest record attendance since its first conference in 1989. Conference Partners broke the boundaries in ensuring delegates experienced the most innovative and creative conference, showcasing Dublin as one of the most welcoming cities in the world.
