Ten in a row for The CCD!
DUBLIN – 02 March 2020 – The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) has won the Gold Award for ‘Best Overseas Conference Centre’ at the M&IT Industry Awards 2020, which took place on Friday 28 February at the Evolution London, Battersea Park, London. This is the 10th year in a row that The CCD has won an award in this category.
The M&IT Industry Awards are voted for by readers of the Meetings & Incentive Travel magazine and recognise and reward excellence in the industry. This is the eighth time that The CCD has won Gold in this category, taking home Silver in 2011 and 2017. The venue beat off stiff competition from five major convention centres including, Bella Center Copenhagen, CCIB Barcelona, RAI Amsterdam and the Grimaldi Forum Monaco.
After picking up the award on Friday night, Suzanne McGann, Head of Marketing and Communications at The CCD said, “We are delighted to win this award again. It’s such a great endorsement from the UK market and we would like to thank everyone who voted for us.”
Commenting on the win, Stephen Meehan, Chief Executive at The CCD said, “It’s such an honour to have featured so highly in this category over the last ten years. To win Gold in our tenth year is a tribute to the whole team and everything they do to deliver exceptional service.”
This latest award for ‘Best Overseas Conference Centre 2020’ at the M&IT Industry Awards, brings the total number of awards the venue has achieved since opening to 45.
