Bronze for The CCD at M&IT

The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) is proud to announce its achievement of winning Best Overseas Conference Centre (Bronze) at the prestigious M&IT Awards. The ceremony was held on September 13 at JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London. This award highlights The CCD's dedication to excellence and its commitment to delivering world-class events.

The M&IT Awards, organised by Meetings & Incentive Travel magazine, are renowned for being one of the industry’s highest accolades, recognizing outstanding achievements and contributions in the meetings, incentives, conferences, and events (MICE) sector. They are voted for by UK event organisers. This marks the 14th M&IT award for The CCD, having taken home the Gold award 11 times and also Silver in 2011 and 2017.

Commenting on the win, Stephen Meehan, Chief Executive of The CCD said, "Winning Best Overseas Conference Centre (Bronze) is an extraordinary achievement and a testament to our team’s dedication, passion, and relentless pursuit of excellence. We are truly honoured to receive this recognition from our clients and peers, who inspire us to continuously push the boundaries of innovation and service delivery in the events industry.”

Congratulating Meet in Ireland for picking up an award for Best Overseas Convention Bureau, Meehan went on to say, “We’re delighted to see Meet in Ireland being recognised for the phenomenal work they do in positioning Ireland as a top business destination. With Dublin’s strategic location, blend of history and vibrant culture, and excellent offering for event organisers, the city provides an exceptional experience for international delegates spending time here.”

This year, The CCD was shortlisted against four major international convention centres – Bella Center Copenhagen, Grimaldi Forum Monaco, PortAventura Convention Centre, and RAI Amsterdam.

Since opening in September 2010, The CCD has now won 65 industry awards and hosted over 2,300 events. The venue hosted 131 events in 2023, including 56 international conferences.

Confirmed upcoming events in 2024 include WONCA Europe, Dell Technologies Forum, 2024 Annual Global Meeting of the International Gynecologic Cancer Society, Internet Engineering Task Force 121, An Post Book Awards, The European Cell and Gene Therapy Congress.
