More Than Just Access: Creating an Inclusive Experience at The CCD.
At The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD), we want all visitors to our venue to feel welcome and comfortable. Accessibility is at the heart of our venue and we’re always looking for ways to make it as easy as possible for all visitors and delegates to explore the venue without stress and enjoy their time here. When designing The CCD, we ensured the building met a wide range of needs and we continue to evolve to this day.
Navigating inside the venue is simple, with spacious lifts providing access to all levels. All of our event spaces and meeting rooms are wheelchair accessible. The Auditorium includes 20 spaces for wheelchair users, each with an adjoining companion seat. We also have wheelchairs available to borrow on request to assist visitors while in the building.
For guests with hearing impairments, we’ve installed induction loop systems in several meeting rooms, as well as infra-red radiator systems in key spaces like The Auditorium. We offer neck-worn induction loops for those who need them, making sure everyone can fully engage with events.
Our signage throughout the building is designed with accessibility at the forefront, with clear, high-contrast lettering and Braille where needed. We also use Braille buttons in our lifts and audio announcements to assist visually impaired visitors. Our teams are trained to provide support when needed and we’re happy to arrange additional assistance if requested in advance.
Recognised assistance dogs are welcome throughout the building and we’re happy to provide water bowls on request so they stay comfortable too.
We also understand that accessibility is about more than physical access—it’s about creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Our team is always on hand to answer questions, offer assistance or guidance if needed and help make your visit as smooth as possible. Whether you need seating arrangements adjusted, assistance with navigation or any other support, we’ll do everything we can to accommodate you.
We know that accessibility is always evolving and we’re committed to continually improving our visitors experience at The CCD.
