The CCD to host the World Youth and Student Travel Conference 2014
DUBLIN –20 September 2013 – After receiving a number of viable proposals, the bid put forward by Ireland’s national tourist board, Fáilte Ireland, with the support of the Dublin Convention Bureau, has successfully secured Dublin as the host city for the World Youth and Student Travel Conference (WYSTC) 2014.
The event will take place from 23-26 September at The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) next year, and will feature four days of networking, trading, seminars, and workshops for key stakeholders and organisations that provide youth, student and educational travel.
David Chapman, Director General of WYSE Travel Confederation comments on the win “we are delighted that Dublin will be the host for WYSTC 2014. Fáilte Ireland and the Dublin Convention Bureau have put forward an excellent bid and we are confident that delegates from around the world will enjoy the best of Irish hospitality while doing business at WYSTC.”
With young travellers representing one of the fastest growing segments of the travel industry, youth travel is high on the agenda for Fáilte Ireland, who are delighted with the win. Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Leo Varadka T.D. comments “I am responsible for supporting the growth of a competitive and sustainable tourism industry and I am therefore delighted to support Dublin in its bid to host the Worth Youth Student Travel Conference at The CCD in 2014”.

Leo Varadka concludes “The CCD opened three years ago, and in between educational seminars and a multitude of business appointments, delegates attending WYSTC 2014 will be able to admire excellent views of the River Liffey, Dublin City Centre and the Wicklow Mountains from the Centre’s unique glass-fronted atrium”.
